Yeah, I know what you mean about not digging Ken most of the time. Other movies I've seen of his, I don't particularly like. Even in some of the Shakespeare adapts we're watching, he's usually just okay. I have to laugh at the fact that he usually does the script, directs, and plays the title character. It's very Gilderoy Lockhart in a hilarious "when art imitates life imitates art" sort of way.
I'm surprised at the crowd that pops up in each of his adaptations! Glimpsing Charlton Heston in Hamlet today was particularly awesome, and the fact that RSCers/quality actors will put in their time for even a tiny bit part is pretty cool.
