Figured I'd grab everybody with the title line. :) As stated, tonight was my big date with my handsome stranger Jameson, or, as my mom fondly calls him, the "mall stalker". Hilarious.

Anyway, he and I met up at Ruby Tuesday for dinner (for those of you interested, he had broccoli-cheese soup & a salad, while I had grilled chicken), then hung out at a local coffee shop, debating whether or not to see a movie. We ended up going to a late showing of Indiana Jones (which wasn't AS bad as I thought, but is still nowhere close to the cinematic glory of the trilogy).

I was pretty careful about the whole encounter, generally. We drove separate cars, never went out of the public eye -- but I didn't have to worry. I didn't even have to pull out my sharp object (a miniature box-cutting knife.)

So, (the pros of the date), everything was very chill. He tried very hard to make sure I wasn't bored or hungry or whatever. Also, to his credit, there was no "yawn and reach" attempt during the movie, and no attempt at a sketchy post-date kiss. (That kind of stuff doesn't fly on the first date, for me, so I was glad it was not mentioned.)

Cons of the date....we still just talked about his band/bandmates for most of the time. Which is fine, except that soon I'm going to get bored with that topic.

Overall, it was a good time -- not great, not awful, but good. I hope we get to go out again, if for no reason other than it will be less awkward a second time through.

Yeah, I was pretty pleased with how things turned out. Compared to the last first date I had, last night was much better. :)

Well, I can't complain about a man who enjoys his broccoli-cheddar soup! I'm so glad you took everything into consideration: driving in separate cars, staying in public, etc. It's bound to be awkward at this point, but I'm glad you had a good time! Of course, there wouldn't be a next time had he tried anything shady. Even if he had survived your box-cutter, you know I would have been over there in a hop, skip and a jump and had his head on a pike before sunset ;)

I have no doubt that you would be in full Bella mode, my dear, if things had gone badly. :) You're not my "second" in a duel for nothing!

*beams*

Little does he know, you have this veritable gang of back-ups ready to off him with one wrong word! Bwahahaha....

*gryns* That's my grrl. Very smartly played. If he does try anything, threaten him with a lion. Or we could send Freya Tiger after him. She'd enjoy that almost as much as we would. *nods*

Er. And don't tell him that all of your friends are threatening him with pikes and tigers. That might not endear you.

Unless the conversation stays centered on him. Then it might be all you need to convince him to pay attention. Excitement about his band is great, honest and real. Self-centered is not. Hopefully, it's just nerves.

Yeah, bringing up the tigers....that might not go over so well. :) But I will keep it to myself and smile about it all the while, haha.

I think most of the band-talk was just nerves -- that and the fact that we hadn't established much in the way of common interest as of yet. We'll see how it pans out...

Hee, well, you're supporting me well despite the fact that you don't like stupid boys. :) I appreciate it!

Glad things went well, and that you were smart/safe about it :-)

Thanks! And had I tried to be any safer, I would have ended up living in a plastic orb or would have been wrapped in bubble wrap....and it would have been my mother's idea.

This guys does sound second date worthy. But then I'm a sucker for musicians...

No kidding - musicians are pretty cool! Especially guitar players....

I'm still waiting to draw a verdict on this particular one, though. :D And in his favor, he does love Beatles music.
